style="font-size:130%;color:#660000;">No man is an island, entire of itself; every man is a piece of the continent, a part of the main......

Bang On !!hats off to JOHN DONNE for this wonderful expression. Each and every posts in a blog speaks of the blogger and his perception. But what could be the source ?If am not wrong, every posts in a blog originates from a subject line which itself has a history of its own.All my posts have a story,a history that speaks of how they manged to get into my blog page. And so today,I thought to put in my source for this particular post.I would like to introduce one of my friends,Elvin, who became instrumental for this post.He stirred up my thoughts in defining ,"absoluteness and imagination and its relevance in bringing in a state of contentment in every individual".I thought of giving it a try,and here it goes:

Absoluteness is a state of compleateness,a quality of being absolute. To be an absolute individual,is a state of mind-quite abstract in all aspects. Is there any well defined criteria or fundas for being an absolute individual??????Absolutely no.In that case,it is tough to define the state of being absolute.Hang on......But we got a way out.Absoluteness in human contentment can better be defined with the aid of Rationalism. We all live in a world where rationalism rules.Absoluteness becomes a flawless state if thaught rationally. In such a platform, every individual sets some target for attaining contentment in his life.Once he achieves it ,he calls himself to be an absolute individual. But then it is a temporary state of mind, because, once he achieves a target,he sets out for the next target. The process is continous in nature and the result is experiancing a state of contentment which we call absoluteness.Hence i believe that no mortal can acheive a state of absoluteness ,because the nature to crave for more is what drives us.

Imagination on the other hand draws more from creativity. It is something that is solely yours-unlike belief ,it is not something that you share socially. But Aristotle reminds us that "the soul never thinks without an image". The trans-rational – for better or worse – is always in tandem with the rational. If the truth be told, we are probably more likely to understand a matter and be moved to appropriate action if the imagination is alive and well. We are also less likely to be seduced by abstractions. There is an old Latin proverb: "Fortis imaginatio generat causam" which, literally translated, says, "A strong imagination generates the cause". In other words, imagination has the power to set us in motion towards some end – it causes things to happen, for better or worse. Moreover, when you believe in your power of imagination ,you will develop your ability to get over the fear of unknown(greatest weakness of man).No matter you succeed or not,but it is always better to bore the responsibility for the decisions you have taken in your life.

In a subjective platform ,belief in the power of one's imagination brings in more contentment than the crave for absoluteness in life.Since every individual is unique ,generalisation is out of question. However, thoughts on subjects like these would help us to read ourselves which inturn helps us in filling the blank spaces of our lives.

God's Own Country in Devil's Lap

Have you ever been to kerala? The land which is believed to be a gift of the Arabian Sea?. Kerala, the abode of rivers and backwaters is a green strip of land, in the South West corner of Indian peninsula.

Kerala enjoys a moderate climate throughout the year and you experience freshness and touch of mother earth every where....Kerala has a rich cultural heritage, which fascinates the tourists a lot. The art and culture of Kerala portrays various dance forms and martial arts performed with the accompaniment of vocal and instrumental music. The breath-taking scenic beauty of this state is yet another feature that adds to its credits. All the 14 districts of Kerala stands unique in providing the visual treat to the scenic explorers.

As per the records,Kerala is a state with 100% literacy rate,Higher health care and Lower mortality ratio.Kerala’s life expectancy is nearly 74 years — 11 years longer than the Indian average and approaching the American average of 77 years. Kerala stands unique among the other states of India in protecting the long lived traditional and cultural values with all its flaura and fauna..No wonder keralites call their State "God's Own Country".

WoW..the state has all the rights to be called so,but what is the day -to -day happenings in the God's own country?

Plagued by chronic unemployment the talented and competitive manpower of Kerala have almost welcomed the idea of migration. Moreover,Kerala is known for large-scale migration of skilled labour to other States and countries. What ails the State that has such a high literacy rate and is also blessed by vast natural resources?........The unprecedented nature of industrial strikes is another hazard that restricts the growth of business sector of the state. No industrialist wants to set up any industry in Kerala due to labour problems. The State is bankrupt, besides being corrupt and largely politicised. Trade unionism is still alive in Kerala. Overlooking the political scenario,we can put it in a nutshell that Kerala politics is becoming a synonym for the sport tug of war.The tourism sector which is booming has a dark side too.Evils of tourism such as the commercial sexual exploitation of children are rampant in the state. The tourism policies in Kerala are stifling the local economies and depriving local communities of their livelihood systems. The problems also include the pollution of backwaters by the tourism industry with the increased number of house boats,The Coastal Regulation Zone (CRZ) violation by hotels and resorts,Unsustainable waste management systems etc. Thus the claim that,"tourism is a vehicle for developing the environment" in the state is highly questionable at best and unfounded at worst.

Women in Kerala are the next to be highlighted to complete the picture of God's own Country. Why does a state that boasts India’s highest literacy levels and excellent social development indicators see a 300% increase in violence against women? Possibly because literacy and education do not change mindsets. This violence could take the form of physical violence, sexual violence, threats of physical or sexual violence, psychological or emotional abuse, or economic violence. In a deeply patriarchal society, education teaches women only to be good wives and mothers.Apart from these, domestic violence too takes place within the four walls of the home, and women are conditioned to accept this as part of their lives.Sex racket in Kerala never fades away.It is to be taken into account that more than 95% of rape cases are not reported fearing social ostracising. A rape victim is always blamed for 'attracting' rape, no such stigma attaches to the rapist. In other words, the victim is victimised even by the justice delivery system and then the victim has to carry the stigma of rape throughout her life. This is the kind of attitude the society has on the victims.

Whatever picture i could draw before your eyes is only the tip of the iceberg,as the saying goes, explored are less dangerous than the unexplored.Fortunately, many have identified the seriousness of the issue and have already started responding through organisations, campaigns , movements etc.The government too is extending a supportive hand to eradicate these evils permanently as it adversely effect the prosperity of the nation as a whole. And so it's high time that we all raise our voice to save the GOD'S OWN COUNTRY FROM FALLING INTO DEVIL'S LAP.

Women in INDIA

You can tell the condition of a nation by looking at the status of its women. - Jawaharlal Nehru

India is a country with a rich and diverse culture. Indian culture tells us to multiply and distribute joy and happiness and share sadness and pain. It tells us that by all this we can develop co-operation and better living amongst ourselves and subsequently make this world a better place to live in.Even though India is a country of various religions and caste, our culture tells us just one thing 'phir bhi dil hai hidustani '.

In such a culture rich country like India, women always enjoyed a respectable position. To add to it India was one of the first countries in the world to give women the right to vote. The Indian Constitution being one of the most progressive in the world, guarantees equal rights for men and women. All this is cited so as to bring forth the the status of a Indian women in the society.Alongside this ,however, there is the reality which paint another picture.

Overlooking the CAW(Crimes Against Women),we can see that over the years it is steadily on the rise in India.CAW traditionally includes rape, kidnapping and abduction, dowry death, torture, molestation, sexual harassment, importation of girls, cases under the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act, Sati Prevention Act, Dowry Prohibition Act and Indecent Representation of Women (Prevention) Act.It is quite shocking to learn that the same country boasted of having a respectable culture ,has turned out to be a hub of criminal activities against women!!!!!!!!!!!..However,till date ,we got many incidents happening around us that remind us of the social responsibility of safeguarding women. As in case of Mumbai molestation ,only a few would hit the news, which mostly end up in unproductive results. How about the rest, those stories that don't see the limelight?.So it is high time that we react to it at the drop of a hat,for what culture have we got in a country where the women are treated as something less than a human being.

Merry Christmas has come around once more. It is a season of great rejoicing for it commemorates the birth of Jesus Christ..For some, Christmas is a religious day celebrated to honour the birth of Jesus Christ and for some it is another holiday noted and distinguished by the mutual exchange of gifts.Celebrations of Christmas are marked by ,the Midnight mass, exchange of greetings and gifts, Christmas tree, Christmas stars, Santa claus,Christmas crib,Christmas carols and mouthwatering recipes, such as,cakes, cookies, pudding etc.During Christmas the Churches are found decorated with poinsettias and lit with candles for the Christmas Eve service. The celebrations of Christmas festival begin on the eve of Christmas on 24th of December and continue till New Year's Day. On the whole, people celebrate Christmas with pomp, gaiety and devotion.

Christmas is known to the world over historically as the memorable day of the birth of Jesus, the Saviour. Though it is true that Christmas is thus celebrated as the day of the advent of Christ into this world, yet it also symbolises a very deeply significant truth of the spiritual life. Jesus Christ lived and symbolised Divine Consciousness. He is the very personification of Divinity. He was born at a time when ignorance, superstition, greed, hatred and hypocrisy prevailed upon the land.He was here to sow the seeds of love, faith and hope in the hearts of his people. He thus depicts the incarnation of the Word to the world. Thus Christmas is something more than a celebration. It is more like a reminder for analysing ourselves. And the real Christmas will be celebrated when we really make up our minds to fulfill the aim of Christ's birth, viz., to enter the Kingdom of God within us, and bring the same on earth."

To save the world, God's own incarnate Word.

He came in darkness, He who was The Light,

His godhead shone from clear blue baby eyes,

The curse of earth's first sin was lifted then,

That midnight hour reopened paradise.

Xmas is in the Air

SaintNicholas was a bishop of the Christian church of Myra,in Lycia, Anatolia. Legend has it that he saved the three daughters of a poor nobleman from a life of prostitution, by tossing a bag of gold through an open window of their home on three, separate occasions. This provided the young women with a dowry with which to procure an honorable marriage. I would thank Mr.Aroop Dwivedi for being my inspiration behind this venture.(http://www.aroopsays.blogspot.com/)

I was born and brought up in the Gods own Country...(kerala).As the majority i too had my schooling without pretty much the knowledge of the world of opportunities that awaits me .It was during the days of my 10 th grade that I mustered enough courage for the first time to take up a decision on my own.But then my task was pretty easy since i was given only two options-Either Science or Arts.Unfortunately or fortunately I had to go with the vogue, and i opted for science. As a matter of fact, my science classes were so productive that it taught me how to dream...hmmmm......i felt like Alice in the Wonderland whenever my eyes and ears were exposed to the beautiful world of mathematical symbols and equations.Anyway, thanks to Science for it taught me that i can do more justice to Arts...

I did my graduation in B.A.Communicative English and could contribute my best in my studies.Quite surprisingly i did my masters in social work and specialised in Human Resource Management. And that's why today am into the shoes of an HR officer

I now realize that it was all a journey...which equally shared the bed of roses and thorns, both . The journey never stops...rather it takes you through different topographies.I always disliked the complexities of the world around me.I was taught how to choose between the rights and the wrongs ,but never learned to decide between what is right and what is wrong. To add to it, i had to encounter the latter many a times in my life......

But today,as i woke up....gave a beautiful smile at the dawn , as she whispered in my ears"wake up to the difference dear".And for me the QUEST continuez......may be with a different aura
